Power In His Touch
The Story Kendra, a modern day single mother, is struggling to overcome a life filled with difficulty and regret. At a rehearsal for a church Christmas concert, feelings of shame and guilt overwhelm Kendra and she doubts her worthiness to perform. Jacob, her friend and fellow soloist, tells her the story of “Sarah”, a woman mentioned briefly in the Bible whose life was dramatically changed by Jesus Christ during his ministry. As the audience is transported back to the dusty streets of Jerusalem 2,000 years ago, other historical New Testament figures come to life for Kendra as well including Jesus, his mother Mary, Nathaniel and Jesus' disciples. The character and motives of Judas Iscariot, in particular, are explored and developed. Fictitious characters also play a part as the story unfolds. Tyras, a wealthy and arrogant politician, marries Sarah while Mordecai - Tyras' charming, but scheming accountant - has his own agenda. How did Christ’s life affect those around him and what was expected of the prophesied Messiah? What motivated a disciple and follower of Christ to ultimately betray his friend and Savior? Those questions and others are explored in this compelling musical. As Sarah and Kendra both learn of the Savior’s message of love and hope, and witness his redeeming sacrifice, their lives are forever transformed.
